The fact that entities around the world now have the ability to directly influence my thinking through feedback from an Internet site is thought provoking to say the least. It is ominous at its worst. Governments have long been able to sway their citizens through manipulation of news and information published in mass to the masses. What is new is that in the extreme one person with the right equipment and connections can control as many as he/she can entice to their site. You know those stories you often hear or see about how satellites can control our brains? Sounds tin foil and conspiratorial, doesn't it? Well, that control has become pervasive everywhere and no one seems to recognize it. If you are on the Internet you are being influenced by forces and powers you can't imagine.
ReplyDeleteMore and more the guiding entities are large corporations. More and more they are into social engineering. They seek to create large communities of users who will be subject to whatever the corporation wants to sell. It goes far beyond products or services. They are selling religion, politics, economics, ideologies and much more. They are building captive audiences that will believe or adapt to whatever the corporation wants them to. Right now we have a whole globe full of Big Brothers but as is normal, they will soon associate with each other and become monopolies of power and influence.
The intent of this essay is not to be a warning or to intimidate or to make readers fearful. The intent is to inform. To point out what is happening right before our eyes is our purpose. Most people are not aware of the extent we have been modified as individuals. We have become an adaptive audience to the great manipulators. There was a time when I felt like I was being Mothered on the Internet by people who seemed to have my best interests at heart. Now I am no longer blind to the fact that I am being used by any Tom, Dick or Harry that has the price of a good computer and WiFi.
I know this is a long article, I know many will not read this far. I know most will think I need the tin foil hat. Just let me close by saying I hope I am a cry in the dark to some. I hope a few will awaken to this ubiquitous danger that stays hidden just behind a very thin curtain that allows people to see in while the multitude cannot see out.
